Still Techniques

Still Techniques

This course will introduce the participants to the history, principles, and practice of the Still-Techniques. These technique principles originated with the founder of Osteopathy, Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, and are very gentle and effective in the treatment of patients.

The term “Still – Techniques” honors the origin of the technique principles and are typically divided into three main categories of techniques:

  • Direct action, “Challenging the Barrier”
  • Dindirect action, “Balance-and-hold”
  • Combined action, “Exaggeration of the lesion”

These principles will thoroughly be explained, demonstrated and practices on the axial spine, thorax and pelvis, the extremities and the soft-tissues. Using applied anatomy and physiology, techniques will be extended into the fascia, viscera, and cranium.

This course is extremely beneficial to both osteopathic practice and patient care, and with an immediate clinical applicability.
